What is the ruling on the twelver Shia?

Answer:

The Ithna Ashariyya have beliefs that are abhorrent to Islam. Some of these beliefs, if held by a person, will take him or her out of the fold of Islam. However, before Takfir is done, it must be ascertained what exactly does a person believe, as the shia sect has many schisms within it, each with its own variant beliefs.
