Praying with niqab in a public place

Question:

I wear a niqaab. When praying in a public place I have been informed that I should pray with my niqaab on. I rarely pray in an openly public place, but often there is a possibility a non-mahram could walk in. Is this right or wrong? Should I lift my veil during salaah if there is a possibility of someone
else seeing me?

Also regarding the showing of the forehead, how much of the forehead needs to be shown?

Answer:

If there is an excuse such as the one you mention, of the presence of non-Mahrams, then it will be allowed to cover the face with the niqab as the Fard has been found, as the thin veil does not prevent the forehead from feeling the ground.

As for how much of the forehead must show, the majority of it should remain uncovered otherwise the ruling of Makruh will apply.
