Question:

If a couple decide to have a divorce after their marriage is not working out and after several months decide they made a mistake, can they get married gain and does the woman have to marry someone else before returning to her first husband

Answer:

Marriage is a serious responsibility and one should not enter it light heartedly, rather one should recognize it will require effort, sacrifices and time. Divorce is the most detested Halal thing in the sight of Allah taala, if however there is no way that the two can stay together, and they divorce, both are free to marry who they wish. Though for the woman there is also the added condition of passing her Iddah. As for returning to the first husband by a new nikah, this too is possible so long as he did not give her three divorces when he divorced her. If three Talaqs/divorces were given, then she must first have married some else, consummated the marriage, then been divorced by that man voluntarily, to marry her first husband.
