| Waiting period for divorced women |
Question:
Is there any waiting period for sexual intercourse for a previously divorced woman who has re-married?
Answer:
Note that a waiting period or Iddah is only obligatory after the end of the sacred relationship of marriage. Thus there is no period that is obligatory that has to be observed for the woman. However before the husband has intercourse with his new wife he should wait till she passes one complete Haid (period of menstruation) in order to ensure that she is not pregnant. If she is found to be pregnant, then it is not lawful to have intercourse with her until she gives birth.
