One should not close one's eyes during Salah even if one is finding it difficult to concentrate. The reason for this is because the worshipper has been commanded to look to the place he will prostrate in a hadith. Always remind yourself that as long as you continue to struggle to concentrate in your Salah, not only are you not considered to have done something wrong but your reward for such a testing prayer is greater. Also, Allah taala does not take you to account for thoughts which come to you involuntarily, however one will be responsible if when it occurs to you that you are thinking about something outside of Salah, say your chores that need to be done etc., to still go on thinking about them even though you are now fully conscious that you are doing this. Such a prayer looses its reward and the spiritual benefit it would have enriched the worshipper with.
