| Evil thoughts |
Question:
I often have evil thoughts concerning many things. These thoughts include those about the opposite sex and also general violent thoughts. I am sure these are to do with events in my life of the past. What can I do to counter these thoughts as they often lead me to the brink of despair, questioning my own faith and basic level of iman. Answer:
Such evil thoughts are sent by Satan and can be very dangerous if not dealt with properly. Thus one will not be held accounatable for such thoughts that come to you involuntarily, but will be if you knowingly dwell upon them. When an evil thought comes to you, you should immediatly say: AUZABILLAHI MINASH SHAYTAANIR RAJEEM and busy yourself in some other activity to help you take your mind off that thought.
