RE: RE: Dealing with white spots in underwear and wudu

Question:

I think that the white spots are wadhi, because I sometimes notice that a quite thick liquid is emitted before and after urinating. I have one more question in reference to this- what about if my underwear is a light colour, such as grey or white. In that case I wouldn’t be able to see if there are white spots there. What should I do in this case?

I have thought more about your problem and feel that there is a Shariah principle that may help you. In the case that you are not sure that something has exited and nor does the undergarment show up any traces, the jurists have stated a person should only base his action on certainty. This means once a person has done Wudhu he has certainty that he is in a state of Taharah (enabling him to pray). Now for that state to be cancelled out (which is based on certainty) it is not enough to merely do so on the basis of suspicion or doubts, rather you must be certain that something has occured that nullifies the Wudhu (eg. wind, exiting of something from either private organ, bleeding, sleep).

Just suspicion that something has exited is not enough. However it is advisable that since your past experience (with the black underwear) has often told you that something has exited you should observe precaution in the manner described in the last replies.
