Food between the teeth - is ghusl still valid?

Question:

Does leftover food have to be removed from the teeth before taking a ghusl? If some pieces remain will it invalidate the ghusl?

Answer:

The Ghusl will be valid as long as one swilled water in the mouth, even if there is food stuck in between the teeth. Though, certainly, it is better if one tried to remove any leftover food stuck there before one does Ghusl. Al-Fataawa al-Hindiyyah, vol.1 p.13.
