Question

When I pray in congregation on the musala, I sometimes have to move my forehead till I find a place where the whole forehad can be flat on the floor. This problem is because under the carpet we have some uneven bumps. But if the whole forehead is not flat on the carpet, is my salah still valid? My other question is: the toes of the feets, if they're not on the ground, I mean facing towards the qibla when I am in sajda, is my prayer still valid?

Answer

[1] Provided most of the forehead touches the ground the Salah is valid, Rad al-Muhtar, p.134, vol.2.

[2] It is Sunnah Muakkada for the toes to be bent to face the Qibla in Sajda. Thus, though it is wrong not to do this without excuse, the Prayer will nevertheless be valid, (Rad al-Muhtar, 210, vol.2).
