On the 19th-20th of March 2011, As-Suffa Institute held an Islamic History Series Course on the Life & Achievements of Ameerul Mu'meneen Umar Bin Al-Khattab [RA]. The course was held at the University of Birmingham and delivered by Shaykh Zahir Mahmood, to a packed lecture theatre of over 300 students that came from all over the UK.
