i know that we are not allowed to take or be in a photograph please can you explain why i dont know how to explain to friends

Digital photos are permitted, as long as there is no indecency in them and Ghayr mahrams will not be able to see them. Having said this, it will not be allowed to print photos except for a need like for the sake of a passport.
