We see the aggressive temper tantrums when the devices are taken away and the wandering attention spans when children are not perpetually stimulated by their hyper-arousing devices. Worse, we see children who become bored, apathetic, uninteresting and uninterested when not plugged in. Join us this month to explore this very apt subject and hopefully come up with solutions we can implement in our lives immediately.

    Serbernecia was the site - a small town located to the east of Sarajevo where an estimated 8000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were rounded up by Serbian special forces and brutally massacred. This horrific event occurred in the summer of 1995 whilst the whole world watched. 22 years this month and lest we not forget! As-Suffa Outreach and Remembering Srebrenica invites you to our Community Seminar on Wednesday 26th July at 7pm to remember the fallen 22 years on and the lessons that can be learnt.

    The rulings of menstruation affect many aspects of our daily ritual worship, and many sisters struggle with confusing and irregular menstrual cycles. Menstruation is also a topic which is sometimes seen as taboo or misunderstood. It is imperative that each Muslim woman strives to attain this knowledge such that she is able to complete her worship soundly.

Get on your bike, Get fit and raise some cash for worthwhile causes on our doorstep! Ride 25, 50, or 75 miles through the country lanes of the Midlands, finish with a celebratory meal and receive your medal at our awards ceremony!

    Register today and RUN for the HOMELESS through Sheffield. Raising money for the Homeless Project is a big part of the experience for many runners and this year we have set a target of £200 each. This will go along way in helping fight poverty locally!

    An advanced course on articulating the spiritual & rational foundations of Islam by world renowned Ustaadh Hamza Tzortzis. Ustaadh Hamza Andreas Tzortzis is an international public speaker on Islam, a writer, lecturer, instructor and researcher. He is particularly interested in Islam, politics, western and Islamic thought and philosophy. Ustaadh Hamza delivers workshops, seminars and courses on the foundations of Islamic thought.

(The Holy Qur'an - Surah al-Maaidah, Verse 32) Join us on 7th October at 5pm when we will be hosting a special community seminar on how to save a life! This FREE event runs for approximately 2 hours, covering CPR, Recovery Position and Choking Management. This course normally costs approximately £200 but is being provided for free in conjunction with British Heart Foundation and BIMA. Registration is Required.

  • Domestic Abuse

    This one day seminar aims to explore and discuss domestic abuse and the Muslim community, looking towards how we may combat the issue using faith and Islamic Teaching. It will culminate in the launch of a faith and culturally sensitive counselling service by As Suffa and Nour-DV. Khalida Haque, a counselling psychotherapist, has been working for a number of years with families, couples, victims and perpetrators.

    The course will go through the 24 hour day covering the main areas such as prayer times, eating, interactions, working, studying belief and much more. The course is designed to give an insight into how Shaytaan deviates human beings where Allah and His messenger (peace be upon him) warned us about following the footsteps of Shyataan.

    This module is designed specifically for 'Alimahs who have graduated from a Madrassa and wish to renew their knowledge, strengthen their connection with their books and develop further research skills. 10 week module with lessons on Arabic Grammar, Arabic Morphology, Application and Spiritual Development.
