Over 300,000 people in the UK are either homeless or living in inadequate accommodation. 94% of homeless people are unemployed, whilst 72% have some sort of mental health illness and 56% have a long-standing physical disability. These alarming figures inspired As-Suffa to initiate its first outreach project.
What began in 2012 with good intentions alongside a few volunteers handing out hot drinks and meals to rough sleepers, has, in turn, become a nationwide project. Real change has been made and we are constantly expanding our support to the often neglected population of our society.
Our site in Birmingham hosts the As-Suffa Homeless project which runs 5 times a week. All our food is freshly prepared on the day and served hot. During the month of Ramadhan, our service provision increases to offer food every day from our Birmingham and Walsall sites.
Alhumdulillah, we are now well established in 7 cities – Birmingham, Bristol, Coventry, Leicester, Liverpool, Sheffield, and Walsall.
Since its inception in 2012, our Outreach Homeless programme has served in excess of500,000 hot meals across the United Kingdom.
Our operation is becoming increasingly recognised amongst the service sector and statutory organisations. This work has been represented at the Housing and Homes Overview & Scrutiny Committee, as well as having been featured on the BBC.
All our projects are run by our dedicated volunteers and generous donors. They share our vision and have witnessed first-hand the impact the outreach project has had.

Lost for words. For those who are really passionate about studying the deen of Allah. There is no place like As-Suffa. Very hard to explain but one has to experience being around those ulama from as-suffa to understand where i am coming from. May Allah increase their knowledge and give them jannat firdaus for the great work of deen that they are doing.
