Gambia Emergency Flood Appeal

Lillah | Sadaqah | Zakat

Our mission

Heavy torrential rain over the last week, has resulted in the worst flooding in The Gambia for over 34 years. The entire Country has been impacted by the heavy rain, with some regions flooding worse than others. The West Coast is one of the area’s which has been severely impacted, with several lives lost and major structural damage to infrastructure.

Already one of the poorest countries in the World where over 48% of the population live in poverty, the people of The Gambia are in urgent need of our help. The contaminated flood water has led to a lack of dry food and clean drinking water and with August and September, generally the wettest months in The Gambia, the situation is expected to get worse.
