Operations Assistant x 3 – Kickstarter roles (18-24)

Duties:

  • Assist with planning of events and retreats
  • Research pricing and building itineraries
  • Social media support including:
    • Schedule posts for Facebook
    • Content & email marketing
    • Uploading marketing collateral
    • Assistance in scheduling emails through email marketing platforms
  • Liaise with individual welfare project leads
  • Assist in planning and arranging events
  • Draft, format, and print relevant documents
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Attend workshops and conferences when requested
  • Help and physically be present at community outreach projects including:
    • Manage admin for the Support services departments
    • Manage correspondence by answering emails
  • To work with the our Community team to respond to email and phone call queries and co-ordinate our support offering including:
    • Liaise with individual welfare project leads
    • Assist in planning and arranging events
  • To help develop, maintain, monitor and support the computer systems, software and networks

 

Key skills:

  • Full training will be provided
  • No previous experience necessary
  • A willingness to learn in order to gain knowledge and develop skills 
  • A passion and desire to help the less fortunate

Prisoner Support Project Lead (Volunteer)

Expenses will be paid and subject to DBS Check

New Roots is a unique programme which work with former offenders whilst they are in prison and assist them with making informed choices and having an external dialogue to reduce the cycle of offending.

We work with people 3 months before and 3 months after their release from prison.

This project has been running since 2018 and we need a committed individual to lead the project and allow us to make a bigger difference to these lives of these individuals and their families.

If you are passionate about helping people, make life changing decisions and feel you can help us achieve our goal please get in touch.

Commitment: Each prison visit day can last up to 4-5 hours, including travel.

Each visit will be between 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. At present we do one visit per fortnight.

Youth Projects Lead (Volunteer)

Expenses will be paid and subject to DBS Check

We’ve held several youth projects over the years; however, we now require a volunteer lead who is passionate about giving young adults access to fruitful opportunities and experiences. Along with arranging various activities, you will ensure you and other volunteers are the ideal role models. Through this project we will also be moulding and guiding the youth to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Commitment: Initially 4 hours a week in growing the project by helping to recruit and train new volunteers and ensure smooth flow of project. The actual activities will vary according to the nature of what is planned.

Events, Excursions and Retreat Lead (Volunteer)

Pre-covid, As-Suffa undertook annual weekend retreats accompanied by our teachers, Father and Son sessions, Camping trips, Volunteer social events, Short one-hour spiritual talks.

We are looking for an energetic and well organised individual to take the lead in planning of events, excursions and retreats.

Commitment: Up to 2 hours per week in brainstorming, researching, and planning activities and events for different part of the year.

Perm for weekend tajweed course only

Days: Sundays – termly 11 weeks with 2-3 weeks break in between each term

Hours: 10am-12pm

We are looking for a dedicated and qualified sister to work in the delivery of our popular Sunday Tajweed course. The teacher will be responsible for teaching a range of adult sisters Tajweed and Qur’anic recitation. Depending on the level being taught, the teacher may have to deliver classes on theory and/or correction of Qur’anic recitation.

The teacher should also be able to take on any side responsibilities such as preparing and marking exam papers, undertaking oral assessments and invigilating exams as and when necessary.

The sister should have a solid background in Tajweed learning and teaching. Applicants with ijaazah/sanad or formal certification will be given preference. Any sisters who have been given permission by qualified teachers to teach may also be considered.

The successful applicant will demonstrate sincerity, excellent punctuality and attendance, commitment and an all-rounded understanding of students’ needs. They will be observant and mindful of the excellent ethos at all times.
